Establishment: WJG Architects, LLC was incorporated in 2004. The president, Wayne Guskind, AIA, has been professionally licensed since 1989 and has over 30 years of experience.

Focus: The firm initially focused on industrial architecture and data floor design, providing a full range of architectural services to the northern New Jersey area. WJG Architects now offers many Residential and Commercial services, as well.

Wayne J. Guskind, AIA

Wayne J. Guskind is the founder and principle-in-charge of the firm. He is licensed in New Jersey (1989), New York (2007) and Pennsylvania (2015) and several other states along with being a member of the AIA & NCARB. Wayne’s formal education includes studies at the Ecole des Beaux Arts in France, and he earned his Masters Degree in Architecture at the Georgia Institute of Technology His diverse work experience includes employment at well-established firms such as: Kajima Associates, Nadasky-Kopelson Architects and Dietz & Associates where Wayne received extensive experience in office design, educational and retail shell building types.

This experience culminated in Wayne being a Senior Vice-President and the Principal Architect (Architect of Record) for Russo Development where he won several awards (Masonry Design) before starting his own practice in 2004. Wayne is proficient at design and construction pertaining to the fields of Industrial, Commercial, Data Floor, Corporate Interior and Residential Architecture. Besides taking personal pride in producing many of the documents himself, he carefully reviews and approves all architectural documentation that leaves the office.

Tony Bustamante

Tony has been involved with WJG Architects, LLC from its inception in 2004. Through his dedication and hard work, he officially became a partner in July of 2006. Tony has experience in Commercial, Retail and Residential Architecture. With his strong abilities in CAD, Construction Documentation and 3D design graphics, he is a hands-on partner and is directly involved in all aspects of the firm’s practice.

Tony’s love of design and building began early in his childhood when he witnessed his neighboring uncle design and build a house for his grandmother. Eventually his desire to design buildings led him to the School of Architecture at New Jersey Institute of Technology where he earned a Bachelor of Architecture Degree in 1998.

John Braun

John has shadowed Wayne since his freshman year of college. Over the years he has worked on large municipal projects, residential single/multi-family homes, and medical planning.

He has a strong understanding of construction which complements his drafting and 3D modeling skills well. He graduated from the New Jersey Institute of Technology where he earned a Bachelor of Architecture Degree in 2020. He is currently pursuing his architecture license.

Consultants

John Monchak, Architectural Designer, LEED AP
John has been instrumental in the development of WJG Architects since its inception in 2004. Besides having a broad range of architectural abilities, John has impressive design talents that he communicates with superior drawing and 3-D visualization skills.

His experience includes institutional, corporate, municipal and all aspects of single- and multi-family residential work. In addition, John’s work reflects his strong commitment and specialized training, research, and experience in sustainable, energy efficient and affordable building design.

William G. Severino AIA, NCARB
William G. Severino, AIA, currently is running his own practice and is licensed in New Jersey and New York. With over twenty years of experience in the architectural field, Bill has extensive background as Senior Project Manager of residential, commercial, municipal, and industrial projects with involvement from schematic design through construction administration.

His Municipal experience encompasses several library additions renovations to police and fire stations while his Commercial experience includes a variety of office buildings and numerous outpatient physical therapy clinics. Most recently Bill has distinguished himself in the field of “passive house design” with the completed design of a large single-family home in Egg Harbor, New Jersey.
